Daily Preparedness Tip: Buy Useful Gifts

I'm a big fan of buying gifts for people that are actually useful.  While the grandkids appreciate video games and such, we often buy them things like sleeping bags and tents (which they find fun even if they just use these things to camp in the back yard).  Some of the most useful gifts are things that can be used during a disaster.  Someone need a weather radio?  They may not want to spend the money to buy one for themself but it does make a good gift (and it can actually save a life!).  Ditto pocket knives, ammo, good quality gold bracelets, etc.

  1. Absolutely, there is no reason why a gift should not be useful if things go sideways. Flashlights and pocket knives or multi-tools are well worth having in an emergency.
