Can You Survive a Helicopter Crash?
Last night's crash of a helicopter into the East River in New York City was a tragedy. Five passengers died in the crash and only the pilot survived. Could the passengers have survived the crash? Who knows really, but if you study up on the topic, you will have a better idea of how to survive such a crash.

Another option is to work in the offshore oil & gas industry. It is required training, on the company dime, due to helicopters being the main mode of transportation for personnel on the rigs & platforms.
ReplyDeleteI've been through it a few times. Top takeaways...keep your focus, be aware of your nearest escape route (windows/doors), move quickly, be prepared to stay afloat in open water until rescued.
