I don't know much about the Mormon religion but when I heard that church members are supposed to keep a year's worth of food stocked in their pantry, I thought they were on to something. Obviously not having to go to the store to procure food for an entire year would be very useful for TEOTWAWKI, but having a lot of food in your pantry will also come in handy during lesser emergencies such a an extended illness, job loss, etc. Your challenge is to build up a stockpile of food that could conceivably last you for an entire year if needed.
