Daily Preparedness Tip: Have a Way to Escape from a Second Floor

If you live in a second floor apartment or have a two story house and plan to use a window as a way to escape from the home in the event of a fire, have a way to safely exit from said window.  If you don't have a safe way to exit a second floor window, like having a fire ladder, then your only other option will be to fling yourself and your children out of a second story window and hope they don't die which is no plan at all.
